About Us

In 1977, when Wanamaker was still a two-lane road lined with soybean fields, our Parish was started by decree of Archbishop Ignatius J. Strecker. Since that day we have grown to serve both our parish and our community. Our church was completed, dedicated and blessed by Archbishop Strecker in 1985, followed by our school and early education center in 1995. Current Parish Membership – 2015 Families.

A Kansas native, Father Pete attended Washburn University and played football for the Ichabods.  After graduation he served in the Marine Corps for 2 years.  On June 4th, 1983 Fr. Pete was ordained after graduating from the Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis. Since then he’s served the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, having spent the past six years at Christ the King Church.

Don Schepker, Finance Council Chairman

Don has been Chair of the Finance Council since 2002.  He is employed as President/Executive Director of the Stormont-Vail Healthcare Foundation.
